Kawasaki ZX-10R is the touch of the factory WSBK team with world champion Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea. The powerful engine is equipped with a 998cc four-cylinder engine.
The results of the tuning that was done to enable the engine to achieve power 210hp at 13,000rpm and 113.5Nm torque at 11,500rpm. According to Kawasaki, inline four-cylinder engine that still uses a bore of 76 millimeters (mm) and stroke of 55mm. However, intake and exhaust parts have been revised. Lightweight piston will compress air and fuel with a compression ratio of 13:1.
The cylinder head and crank are brand new, in addition to 20 percent lighter. Intake cylinder heads ZX-10R also be large enough to enable a straight and better of fuel / air mixture flow into the combustion chamber.
New pistons are also shorter and lighter for access to higher rpm. Meanwhile, the cylinder walls are also thicker and cooling system routes arranged in order to get re-cooled systems. All this was done to meet the stringent Euro 4 regulations for noise and emission aspects.
While on the chassis, changes made are minor. Kawasaki put 7.5mm headstock position near the rider. This is to put more weight on the front wheels. Thus improving stability when cornering. Kawasaki also developed a suspension together with WSBK team and Showa for a sporty ride.
The ZX-10R model comes with Balance Free Rear suspension fork and Showa Balance Free Rear Cushion (BFRC).In order to complete the features, ZX-10R receives a new control system from Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) with 5-axis counting program that can measure the orientation and movement of the motor. Quite impressive.
Now, the swingarm is 15.8mm longer than ever before. It helps put more weight on the front wheels and improves stability when braking and cornering. Braking duties were handed over to aluminum Brembo monoblock M50 with twin 330mm discs on the front. The diameter of the disc were wider 20mm. At the rear is a single 220mm disc with piston caliper.
Ninja ZX-10R comes with a larger fairing. It helps improve stability at high speed and aerodynamic flow. Increased wind guarding can help the rider to change the position easier when braking in corners.
The windscreen is fully supported by the fairing and less vibrate at high speed. Air admission hole in the sides can reduce the negative air pressure in the cockpit and was able to stabilize the airflow and reduce helmet vibrate as a result of a push by the wind. In addition, the use of the front mudguard helps direct the air flow to the radiator for cooling the engine faster.
Kawasaki also offers several other features such as Sport-Kawasaki Traction Control (S-KTRC), Kawasaki Launch Control Mode (KLCM), Kawasaki Intelligent Anti-lock Brake System (KIBS), Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) and Kawasaki Engine Brake Control (KEBC ). Last but not least, the ZX-10R also comes with Ohlins electronics steering damper and new powerful mode selection.
