2016 Jaguar XE - For the first time, Jaguar Land Rover introduces new luxury vehicle segment through the medium size, Jaguar XE. The first model was developed based on aluminum-intensive architecture of the new modular vehicle Jaguar Land Rover.
Jaguar XE is able to compete with other premium models like the BMW 3 Series. The rear-wheel drive machines also use aluminum-intensive monocoque technology which is very strong and lightweight structure. It also comes with double wishbone suspension system at the front, while at the rear, using the Integrated Embedded axle to make driving more dynamic. The aerodynamic shape and best-in-class drag coefficient reads 0:26.
The new model, which was introduced by Jaguar Land Rover present the most advanced driver assistance systems. It involves matching All Travel Control Surface to achieve maximum grip on the wheel for all road surfaces.
Jaguar XE comes with Jaguar Wheel Control allows the driver to select a mode Normal, Eco, Dynamic or Winter that will change the steering and throttle mapping. In fact, it is equipped with the existing system on the performance model Jaguar F-Type Coupe involving vector torque through the braking, to provide lower steering control for satisfying driving experience.
Looking in the cabin interior, it promises the greatest comfort and a superior space. Most interesting was the consul middle that looks neat and simple with round buttons for gear shift. Info-entertainment system, Incontrol Touch with an eight-inch touch-screen display is also offered by British audio technology expertise, Meridian brands. The rear boot space with 455 liters capacity provides plenty of storage space, especially rear seat folding capability 40:20:40.
Jaguar XE marketed three variants involving the Prestige, R-Sport and S, where the three different maximum transmit power. For variant Prestige and R-Sport, it is the same engine that powered 2.0 liter turbo, but the maximum transmit power of each 200PS and 240PS. S variant deliver 340PS with a 3.0-liter V6 powertrain as Jaguar F-Type. However, all three variants were paired with eight-speed automatic transmission system.
