BMW R5 Hommage - BMW has just revealed heritage-inspired bike, supercharged air-cooled boxer twin 500cc and surrounded in the modern parts as a tribute to the 1936 BMW R5 model.
BMW Group is celebrating 100 years since the founding of the company and R5 Hommage BMW Motorrad is part of the planned celebrations take place throughout the year and around the world. This new concept bike shows 80 years since the original R5 was launched in 1936, which at the time it was a pioneering motorcycle and it influenced the design of the bike in the 1950s.
In the middle of R5 Hommage is air-cooled boxer twin 500cc original was rebuilt after severe damage while it is being raced. Custom building Ronny and Benny Noren brothers used to rebuilt the bike according to the plan set by BMW Design Team in Munich.
It may only be a motorcycle concept, but BMW has gone to a lot of effort and trouble, until developing a bespoke supercharger for the 500cc twin, new fork that mimic those in the original R5 but have a modern performance. Brake and clutch levers mounted on the outer ends of the handlebars, modern brakes are mounted together with the latest rear suspension system.
The BMW R5 Hommage is one of the most beautiful motorcycle in the history of BMW which is a combination of old school and high tech with high performance.
